wedding speeches?
July 9, 2010
Hi, can anyone tell me the correct order for speeches? The 3 people giving a speech are best man, groom and my brother (acting as father of the bride)
thanks
Yes, your brother should be first, and end his speech by proposing the health of the bride and groom. Groom replies, and proposes health of bridesmaids and any other attendants, best man replies to that toast on their behalf. So you can see, there’s a logic to it.

Whatever order you want. Ask them what they are comfortable with, for instance if the best man has some stage fright you might let your brother go first to soften up the crowd.
The groom should go last though because part of what he does is stand up and start by thanking everybody for their great speeches.

Traditionally
Your brother first as he is acting as father of the bride
Then the groom!
Then the best man!
